Regardless whether your flight is a short or a long one, there are a few things you should turn into a habit when traveling. Here are the 10 things to do before your flight.
1. Check all the flight info
Although you may be sure you got everything right, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Check again to make sure your flight info is up to date in order not to miss an important flight.
2. Get maps on your smartphone
This will prove to be especially useful if you’re traveling somewhere new. Downloading the latest guides will help you get a better idea of the city.
3. Organize your documents
Make sure everything is in place and easily reachable. Even better, make copies of your passport and send them to your own email address.
4. Purchase a device charger
All the maps and guides are a killer for your smartphone’s battery. If you’re unsure of when you’ll be able to charge your phone, get a separate charger.
5. Call your bank
Your bank should be aware of the fact you’re traveling. If not, they may just shut off your credit card thinking there is fraudulent activity going on.
6. Get traveling insurance
Although not a must, a travel insurance could potentially make things easier if something unexpected occurs. Better be safe than sorry!
7. Double-check the luggage
Get used to checking your luggage before your trip, just to make sure you didn’t forget something important at home.
8. Set up your emergency contacts
These should include the hotel you’ll be staying at, as well as local hospital numbers. Writing them on paper is even better.
9. Upgrade if possible
A long flight can be exhausting, so upgrade if you get the chance. Traveling first class is a completely different experience.
10. Download new music
Make a separate playlist that will remind you of your vacation. New music if always fun!
